innerdance Sleep Experiment
Thank you for your interest in the innerdance Sleep Experiment.
Sufficient and good quality sleep is vital for our physical, mental and emotional functioning, as well as for the neurological and physiological operations of our bodies. Yet, staggering numbers of people globally struggle with sleep difficulties including bad sleep quality, insomnia, apnoea, night terrors and parasomnias such as sleepwalking and sleep talking. Sleep difficulty also regularly accompanies anxiety, depression, stress, physical illness and pain.
The innerdance Sleep Experiment is designed to explore how innerdance may serve as an aid to those struggling with sleep difficulties.
The project aims to:
- Aid participants in bettering their overall sleep
- Learn more about the benefits of innerdance for sleep outcomes
- Inform our application of innerdance globally
The innerdance utilises intentionally created sound playlists to induce specific brain waves and states aimed at activating and balancing the autonomic nervous system, stimulating the circadian rhythm and the release of melatonin, inducing a wakeful REM state, and overall deep rest and relaxation.
Participation in the innerdance Sleep Experiment will involve:
- An intake questionnaire with personal information related to your sleep
- Listening to specific playlists at night while sleeping for four (4) weeks
- Keeping a journal of your experiences
- An exit questionnaire about your experiences
Research and data gathering is a vital part of learning more about the workings of innerdance, its efficacy and impact. Ultimately, it is done with the goal of bettering people’s lives on an individual but also collective level. We can only achieve this by participants taking the time to share their experiences with us. For this we are deeply grateful.
The innerdance Sleep Experiment will run from 18 July to 21 August 2024.
Registration for participating in the first phase of the sleep experiment is now closed. If you are interested in participating in future projects of this nature, please join our mailing list for updates.
